Autumn in Tennessee!
Hello, World!
A lot has happened since my birth on March 4, 2009, and so far I think autumn is the best season of all! However, I hear that Christmas is just around the corner, and for babies, that can be a good thing:) Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, here are my latest pictures.
Love,
~ Lily

Football and Piano

Hello, World!
It was a busy weekend, and I really tried to help Tennessee win that ballgame. See picture. This is my first fall, and I have my Halloween wardrobe is complete -- stay tuned for pictures. Meanwhile, here is a picture of me with "What's-her-name" (soon to be determined, now that I am in the early stages of talking), playing "You Are My Sunshine" on the old piano.
Have a happy day:)

Happy Labor Day to All!

Hello, Friends!
This is my first Labor Day and it was a BLAST! "What's-her-name" came up here for the weekend, and we went shopping for mums and Halloween costumes! Stay tuned for updates and pictures -- my costume is ADORABLE.
Hope you have all enjoyed your long weekend. For a first Labor Day, I have to say it was a lot of fun and quite relaxing at that.
Love, ~ Lily

The Latest Lily Bloom!
Identity Crisis! Name Change!

Well, it seems that "Granny" is not going to fit after all. I spent the weekend with "What's-her-name," and while we tried "Granny," it just did not seem to work. Go figure. We have decided to wait until I begin to talk, which will not be too far away, and we will see what transpires.
Meanwhile, I am having a GRAND time with "What's-her-name" and her husband "Bruce." What's in a name, anyhow? After all, a rose is still a rose, by any other name ... and so is a LILY!
PS: Roses don't even BEGIN to compare to lilies!
PPS: This is a picture of me wearing Bampy's hat -- he was "What's-her-name's" grandfather, and it seems he had a SMALL HEAD! This hat just about fits me already!

Uncle Patrick is Rather Large!

On my visit to Columbia this weekend, I got to know Uncle Patrick and I noticed that he was a LOT bigger that I was! Just take a look at those hands! But I like Uncle Patrick because he is funny, in an odd sort of way. For example, he commented that taking care of me was like taking care of a drunk person. Lucky for him, I found the comment so funny that I was not offended.
Next step: Uncle Gus.
An aside: Aunt Katy was also home, and she was nurturing and comforting, and I would like to go visit her in Oxford SOON. Aunt Katy tells me she has TONS of books she wants me to read ... so much to do; so little time.
Still Don't Know Her Name
Well, well, well ... we still don't know her name. We have decided to wait until I begin to talk (which I predict will be very soon), and one of these days we will come up with a name. Meanwhile, I just know that she loves me more than life its own self and that is all that matters in this world to me.
Signed,
Lily Gillen
More on Lilies ...

Hello, Everyone ... just want to comment on my latest observation that life is strange! Consider the lilies, for instance. My mother bought this house last summer with nary a thought about the flowers that were planted deep in the ground. Then I was born on March 4, 2009, and here in May, we notice that LILIES are bursting up all over the place! It seems they were the only flower planted in the numerous flowerbeds around the house ... lilies of all shapes and sizes ... lilies everywhere, but of course I am the BEST lily, or so they say. Whatever the case, I think these flowers are beautiful and interesting. Everything is still so NEW to me, but I do love these lilies ...

Who is Uncle Sam?

My mother is an accountant and sometimes she takes me to work with her. We have been very busy this week, especially on April 15. Luckily I slept most of the day through that torrential day. I wonder, who is Uncle Sam? I keep hearing about him but I never actually see him! I don't think I want to see him, because people don't seem to like him. Oh, well. When I grow up I am going to be a piano player.

Bathing is a Good Thing!

I have already learned that bathing is a good thing. When I am clean and freshly powdered, I find that I sleep for longer periods and that my dreams are more pleasant. Also, I simply ADORE the robe that What's-Her-Name bought me! Everyone should be so lucky! Happy Easter to all and to all a good night! Or is that CHRISTMAS? I am young and still somewhat confused.

"What's Her Name"

Lily Gillen here on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Just wanted to comment on this woman who keeps holding me -- I don't know her name but I like the way she twirls around in circles every time I cry and then swoops me up in the air like a helicopter.
I have heard people mention that she is my grandmother, and that her name is "Ju-Ju," because all her nieces and nephews have always called her that, but that somehow it just didn't seem right for me since I am her GRANDDAUGHTER. I overheard my mother telling her, "Maybe you can just be 'What's-Her-Name."
And then this woman who swoops me up in the air said, "That ain't right." You would think she could at least use proper grammar.
"We'll just wait and see what happens," said 'What's-Her-Name.' I have noticed that 'What's-Her-Name's motto seems to be, "Let's just wait and see." It is interesting that her husband, Bruce, does not embrace this motto for he is a PLANNER. Again, he is a simple man and I like that about him.
Meanwhile, I do like the song "What's-Her-Name" sings to me -- "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," or something like that. Also, I am going to post a picture that a friend of hers airbrushed for her ... after all, "What's-Her-Name" is well, old. Still, it is a good picture and I like it. Stay tuned -- time for an Enfamil buzz.

Lily Gillen's First Blog!

Lily Gillen here, one month old today. Of all things, I attended my first Mule Day Parade in Columbia, Tennessee (see picture). I slept through most of the mule stomping, but I did see Phil Fulmer, Grand Marshal. I wonder: How did Phil go from being the Tennessee football coach to grand marshal of the Mule Day Parade in less than six months? Even though I have been in this world for only one month, I have learned that things are strange here. Very strange.
